Jake's First Bike!!

It took me 6 years to be ok with this(him riding a bike). My child doesn't let visual impairment impact his life so why should I hold him back from being a kid. This is his first bike and the smile on his face says it all. He's no different than any other 6 year old. This picture proves that. 

Jake's Cabin Weekend

This past weekend Jake went up to the cabin with my Sister Tracy. I bugged her all weekend to send me pictures of what he was doing. I'm that MOM! lol

4th of July

We went camping over the 4th with my family. It was a great time and Jake had a blast. Jake loves being in the water. He has no fear. He jumped off by himself into the water about 10 times. He didn't want to get out.

We camped out on the beach while we waited for the DNR to let us on the lake with the boat. Apparently, they only allow 28 boats on the lake and this place was PACKED..

The only thing that sucked was the bugs were horrible. This was the look we sported to keep the mosquitos from dive bombing out heads.

After a long weekend Jake and I spent Sunday reading and relaxing.

 Now we are back to reality after a long holiday weekend. This is Jake's last week of summer school and then he is off until September.

It's Been 2 Years!!

It's hard to believe that I haven't posted in 2 years. I think I fell off the face of the earth for a while. A lot has changed and Jake is now 6.I thought that this would be a perfect time to jump back in.

The past 2 two years has been a very tough time for our family but things are finally turning around and the future looks bright. We are in a new house and starting fresh. Jake starts 1st grade in the fall at a new school.  He will also have a new vision teacher for the 1st time in 3 years which we are both sad and excited about. So to start off getting back into blogging I will leave you with a new picture of Jake on the first day of kindergarten and then on the last day.

Hello,

My blog has been inactive for a long time. This is going to change as I want to shy away from posting on facebook about Jake and family and start getting back into documenting our lives on my blog. I used to put so much time into my blog and because of work, family and just life I have let my blog fall by the wayside. I am hoping to change that. Starting today.

Jake attends an early intervention preschool and he LOVES it. He has learned so much and become such a local little boy. I am so happy at how well things have gone and sad that he will be moving to a new school next year. Jake gets a lot of hands on help at Riverview and I wish that he could stay there next year but hopefully his new school will be just as good if not better. I am not too sure though as I have already heard bad news about his new school. I will be posting his school pictures soon but below is his class photo.

I showed Jake his class picture and he was able to find Ms. Sandy in the picture. Unfortunately I think his friends were a tad too small for him to see so he was unable to name them but that's ok. Look at that big smile. What a handsome little man.

It's been way TOO long!

I haven't blogged in like 5 months. Can you believe that??? The past 5 months have been filled with wedding stuff and I haven't had time to do anything but that and be a Mom. I will be posting updated pictures of Jake and what we've been up to. I just wanted to share that Brent and I got married. He finally made an honest woman out of me. Lol

Easter Post-A little Late

Work has been so busy that I just don't have time to blog as much as I used to. I am just now getting around to blogging about Easter.

Easter morning Jake woke up early and while I was still sleeping Brent said that he threw up a little. We didn't think much about it because he seemed fine. When I got up we did the Easter basket hunt. Here are some pictures.

After Jake found his Easter basket we were doing to get dressed and head out to our family function. Then the throwing up started again. He threw up his breakfast and anything he tried to drink. This was him after throwing up.

I think we changed his clothes and ours about 5 times that day. Oh well. It was a Easter to remember.

This past Saturday Brent and I got together with our friends for my Birthday Dinner. We went to Rudy's Red Eye Grill in White Bear Lake. It was a fun dinner.

I feel like I have the best group of friends. It has taken me a while to realize who is important in my life and to let go of the people that just don't care. We have all had our share of fights but in the end we will always be there for each other. We are a family and families have their share of drama. The the 20+ years I have known these girls a lot of friends have come and gone. Through it all they still remain the most important people in my life. I love you all.

Jake's 3rd Birthday

Jake turned 3 on February 17th and we decided to bring him to the Eagles Nest indoor playground and then out for pizza at Adagios Pizza Factory. I can't believe that Jake is 3 already. Here are some pictures from the day.

Jake,

I can't believe you are 3 years old already. You are growing up so fast but you will always be my baby. You are a very sweet kid. You love giving hugs and kisses and you know when to use your please and thanks yous. You love to play with your cars, balls and you LOVE to color. You make us laugh everyday. You love to dance and to play with your dog Gizzy. You are so smart and can count to 10. WOW!! You are also learning your colors. We are so happy that you are a seeing colors so well and we think you have them down. You are an amazing kid. You love your big boy glasses and we think they have opened a whole new world for you. I love you and can't wait for every moment I get to spend with you. Having you was the best thing I have ever done in my life. You have changed me for the better. I thank God that he gave me you.
