Currently

I recently set a goal to get back into blogging. Over the years since Jake was born I've  made this goal several times and never stuck with it. So why is this time different? I can't say that it is? All I can say is blogging was something that I used to love doing and over the years I have lost track of a lot of the things I love doing. That being said I thought I would start off my week with a CURRENTLY post that I borrowed from veteran blogger Krysten. Check out her blog at why-girls-are-weird

Reading: I just started reading What Doesn't Kill Her by Carla Norton. This the second book in The Edge of Normal series. I loved The Edge of Normal so I hope this one is just as good. Stay tuned. I've also been trying to finish 11/22/63 for a long time. I really want to finish is but I am sad to say that I might just wait until the series starts on Hulu on 2/15/16 to see how it ends. 

Eating: I am working really hard to eat clean. It's nuts how many chemicals are in the food we eat. It's been hard for me but I'm trying. 

Thinking about: Lately I feel like I may have developed a little OCD. All I can think about it how unorganized my house is. I am thinking about purging a lot of things in my house and working on becoming a minimalist.

Looking forward to: Warmer weather! I'm sure I'm not alone in that one. I miss evening walks with Jake and running outside. 

Enjoying: Spending time with old acquaintances that have become new friends and a huge part of my life. I am also enjoying watching Jake's personality emerge and how amazingly creative and funny he is. 

Learning:  I'm learning that I need to take care of myself and get back to what makes me happy. I'm slowly learning that there are people in my life that will always judge me and think my choices aren't exactly what they would choose but that's ok. I can't please everyone nor do I want to. I would love a family without judgement but we aren't perfect and that's also ok. 

Loving: I found a group that combines my two loves Minnesota and photography. Check out Minnstameets if your in MN.

Jake's First Bike!!

It took me 6 years to be ok with this(him riding a bike). My child doesn't let visual impairment impact his life so why should I hold him back from being a kid. This is his first bike and the smile on his face says it all. He's no different than any other 6 year old. This picture proves that. 

Jake's Cabin Weekend

This past weekend Jake went up to the cabin with my Sister Tracy. I bugged her all weekend to send me pictures of what he was doing. I'm that MOM! lol

4th of July

We went camping over the 4th with my family. It was a great time and Jake had a blast. Jake loves being in the water. He has no fear. He jumped off by himself into the water about 10 times. He didn't want to get out.

We camped out on the beach while we waited for the DNR to let us on the lake with the boat. Apparently, they only allow 28 boats on the lake and this place was PACKED..

The only thing that sucked was the bugs were horrible. This was the look we sported to keep the mosquitos from dive bombing out heads.

After a long weekend Jake and I spent Sunday reading and relaxing.

 Now we are back to reality after a long holiday weekend. This is Jake's last week of summer school and then he is off until September.

It's Been 2 Years!!

It's hard to believe that I haven't posted in 2 years. I think I fell off the face of the earth for a while. A lot has changed and Jake is now 6.I thought that this would be a perfect time to jump back in.

The past 2 two years has been a very tough time for our family but things are finally turning around and the future looks bright. We are in a new house and starting fresh. Jake starts 1st grade in the fall at a new school.  He will also have a new vision teacher for the 1st time in 3 years which we are both sad and excited about. So to start off getting back into blogging I will leave you with a new picture of Jake on the first day of kindergarten and then on the last day.

Hello,

My blog has been inactive for a long time. This is going to change as I want to shy away from posting on facebook about Jake and family and start getting back into documenting our lives on my blog. I used to put so much time into my blog and because of work, family and just life I have let my blog fall by the wayside. I am hoping to change that. Starting today.

Jake attends an early intervention preschool and he LOVES it. He has learned so much and become such a local little boy. I am so happy at how well things have gone and sad that he will be moving to a new school next year. Jake gets a lot of hands on help at Riverview and I wish that he could stay there next year but hopefully his new school will be just as good if not better. I am not too sure though as I have already heard bad news about his new school. I will be posting his school pictures soon but below is his class photo.

I showed Jake his class picture and he was able to find Ms. Sandy in the picture. Unfortunately I think his friends were a tad too small for him to see so he was unable to name them but that's ok. Look at that big smile. What a handsome little man.

It's been way TOO long!

I haven't blogged in like 5 months. Can you believe that??? The past 5 months have been filled with wedding stuff and I haven't had time to do anything but that and be a Mom. I will be posting updated pictures of Jake and what we've been up to. I just wanted to share that Brent and I got married. He finally made an honest woman out of me. Lol

Easter Post-A little Late

Work has been so busy that I just don't have time to blog as much as I used to. I am just now getting around to blogging about Easter.

Easter morning Jake woke up early and while I was still sleeping Brent said that he threw up a little. We didn't think much about it because he seemed fine. When I got up we did the Easter basket hunt. Here are some pictures.

After Jake found his Easter basket we were doing to get dressed and head out to our family function. Then the throwing up started again. He threw up his breakfast and anything he tried to drink. This was him after throwing up.

I think we changed his clothes and ours about 5 times that day. Oh well. It was a Easter to remember.
