Jake's Journey (updated)

One year ago today we got the awesome news that after 7+ years of multiple EUA(exams under anesthesia) and procedures Jake's eye disease FEVR was finally to a point where his surgeon felt comfortable moving him to yearly office visits(AWAKE). This was a big moment for us. As we quickly approach his yearly exam we pray for continued success and happy news.

I am happy to report that Jake's exam was a success and his eye disease FEVR is stable. Happy news to get right before he starts 2nd grade. 

I Have a Confession

So I have a confession. My Google reader was so full of blogs that I needed to read and there was no way I was going to catch up on all of them so I had to mark all as read and start fresh. I want to apologize to everyone. Normally I am very good at reading and commenting on all my fellow bloggers blog's but I just let it get way out of control. So you've probably noticed that I haven't been commenting lately. Don't give up on me. I am going to try to not let it get so bad again to where I have to start fresh. Bad blogger!!

Today was a very stressful day for me. Monday's and Tuesday's every other week are payroll roll days for me. Normally it goes pretty smooth but for some reason today every thing just seems to go wrong. I'm hoping for a better day tomorrow. I hope every one had a good Monday. I will leave you with some cute pictures of my little man. That always cheers me up.

A friend of ours just gave Jake a big basket of new books. He loves them. I thought I would share some pictures of Jake having story time.

Vinny V

My Cousin Nick and his girlfriend Brittney had a little boy 3 weeks ago. They named him Vinny V. How cute is that!! Tonight they surprised us by stopping by. I was very excited because this is our first time meeting little Vinny. He is a very good baby and so dang cute.

Playing In The Yard

Tonight after I got home from work B and I hung out in the yard and watched Jake play. It was a beautiful night. We love hanging out in our backyard relaxing. It is one of my most favorite things to do. Here are some pictures of Jake hanging in the yard. Straight out of my camera. No editing. I think they turned out really good.

Jake just discovered his fish tank. It's been in his room for about a year but he is just now showing
an interest in it. His fish Goldie is 4 years old. He's HUGE!

Bad Hair Day

I'm sure that you've noticed from pictures that I've posted of Jake that I don't really like to cut his hair. I love Jake's curls. I've only really cut it once and even then I kept a lot of curls. Well I knew that it was getting out of hand. Saturday he was mistaken for a girl and so I decided it was time for a "TRIM". Monday's my Sister picks up Jake from daycare and brings him to therapy. I asked her if she would bring him to get his hair trimmed. Just a little off the back and a cut his bangs so they aren't in his eyes anymore. Here is a before picture.

I was absolutely devastated when my Sister sent me a picture of his hair cut. Not only did the stylist CHOP all my kids hair off but she also did a hack job.

How the hell do you get your license when you cut hair like this. 

It's uneven on each side and the front is uneven too. I was so sad. My Sister said that when she was cutting his hair he wasn't happy and moved and then she had to fix it and cut off more then she wanted to. After Jake got out of the tub tonight I fixed the front and the sides so it looks a lot better. I am sad that my baby's curls are all gone but I do have to admit he does look cute with a big boy hair cut. I just don't think I was ready to let go of my baby's curls yet. I can't believe the girl actually charged my Sister 16 dollars. 

It will grow back!

My Wordless Wednesdays are usually pictures of Jake and today isn't going to be any different. I took this picture a couple weeks ago. I can't remember if it was the time where he took off outside after a bath or if it was the time he was naked in his pool. Either way it's a cute photo!! I had to share.

Jake loves pushing his Zebra around the yard. He isn't shy either. Loves being in his Birthday suit.

Jake has this thing that he does when he is going #2. He usually goes in a corner and doesn't want anyone talking to him. He gets this funny look on his face. He will probably be mad when he gets older that I share these photos but he is just so darn cute.
