Weekend with the Family

This past weekend Jake and I spent a lot of time with my family. Saturday my Brother completed his first 1/2 marathon. We all got together at the finish line to greet him. My Brother Jason started running recently. He was never a runner but decided he wanted to start. He picked it up quickly and has been training for a while. He completed 13(?) miles in 2 hours and 12 minutes. Pretty good for a first timer. We were very proud.

After the marathon we all went to Stagecoach Days in Wyoming. They had a petting zoo, train rides, free booya, free pie, and free rootbeer floats. Jake was having an off day but we made the best of it. He loved the bouncy house. That was until the bouncy house turned off all of a sudden and Jake was stuck in it as it was collapsing. UGH!!

Having fun bouncing
Jake was unsure about the petting zoo
Tony liked it though
The boys enjoyed the train ride.
On Sunday Jake and I met my family up in Wyoming again to have a family bowling/laser tag day. This was Jake's first time bowling and he LOVED it!! He loved all the colors and did pretty good. Better then me that's for sure.

Storytelling in 30 Photos

This is 1 of many photos from this weekend. This photo was taken in Duluth MN last fall. My Aunt Jenny and Uncle John lived up there for a short time last summer. They decided to move back to the cities and I volunteered to help them move back. I took 2 long trips up there move everything back. Over the couple of days that I was there I had my Aunt take many many fun shots. I will have to share more in my 30 photo story telling because some are off the wall. I had this very odd thing with her taking my picture in random places where I would play dead. Yes I know it sounds odd but I'm odd.  This one was taken after we walked down to the lake from their house. For some reason I had to climb on everything and say "take my picture doing this". It was a great time.

I Have a Confession

So I have a confession. My Google reader was so full of blogs that I needed to read and there was no way I was going to catch up on all of them so I had to mark all as read and start fresh. I want to apologize to everyone. Normally I am very good at reading and commenting on all my fellow bloggers blog's but I just let it get way out of control. So you've probably noticed that I haven't been commenting lately. Don't give up on me. I am going to try to not let it get so bad again to where I have to start fresh. Bad blogger!!

Today was a very stressful day for me. Monday's and Tuesday's every other week are payroll roll days for me. Normally it goes pretty smooth but for some reason today every thing just seems to go wrong. I'm hoping for a better day tomorrow. I hope every one had a good Monday. I will leave you with some cute pictures of my little man. That always cheers me up.

Night Out!

Tonight I had a date night with of my closest girlfriends Gretchen. Since she always comes over to my house when we hang out we decided that I would come over to her neck of the woods. Gretchen lives in Uptown which is one of my favorite places to hang out. She suggested a new restaurant that just opened up about 2 blocks from her house called The Lowry.  We had an amazing dinner. Gretchen ordered pesto pasta and I ordered fish tacos. Both of us loved out meals.

Gretchen's dinner

This is what I had. Fish Tacos and they were amazing.

After we got done with dinner we decided to walk around Lake of the Isles. I think it was 3.5  miles or something like that. It was a wonderful walk and the weather was gorgeous. I of course had my camera so I took some shots while on our walk.

There are so many beautiful houses around the lake. I thought this one was so pretty I had to take a picture.

Gretchen lives in a really cool apartment with her girlfriend Daria(who is also one of my good friends). We decided to sit out on their stoop and talk for a while. We had a great time catching up and people watching.

I really had a great night with my girls. It's been a couple months since I've seen them which is way too long. Thank you girls for having me over. Love Ya!!

Photo #2

When my life long friend Kristi attended St.Cloud State way back in the day all of us girls used to go up to her apartment that she shared with 4 girls. I spent many many weekends partying with Kristi and all her college friends. I didn't attend a 4 year school but I felt like I had the college experience through Kristi. Some of my best memories are of the St.Cloud days. This picture is of Kristi, Sonja, Laura (brown) me and Lanee.

playdate

I was checking out my Sister in law's blog and I noticed she posted about a play date our boys had this past winter. I posted about this too but I thought her photos were cute. My nephew is 11 months older than Jake. I love that they are going to grow up together and are so close in age.

Jake and Tony making music. Jake loved the whistle.

State Fair 2011

Everyone that knows me knows I love the state fair. I look forward to it every year. I would go everyday if it wasn't so expensive to get in. 12 dollars a person is a tad much if you ask me. Last night B and I went to the fair after I got off of work.

You have to get corn when you go to the fair.

Grandstand

I took this for Giz
After a long night at the fair I started to look a little worn

Love the swings

B actually went on this with me.

This is my all time favorite ride but of course B wouldn't take me on it.

Midway

We had a great time. Here is a list of what we shared.

Deep fried pickles (my all time favorite food at the fair)
Cheese on a stick
Corn on the cob
Caramel apples in a bowl
Chicago dog
Garlic cheese bread
Beef stick
French Fries

I think that's it. I was so full after we left. I didn't eat much today because I felt guilty. Oh well, it's only once a year.

Happy Labor Day!!
