Strange Obsession!!

Ok...I have a really strange obsession that started a few weeks ago. It has to be the pregnancy that is making me a NUT JOB. Ok don't laugh.. The smell of motor oil... I'm not going around sniffing tail pipes on cars so don't be worried. It all started when I got my new twilight book. I noticed that the pages smelled like motor oil. Now I can't put the book down and not because I can't stop reading it but because I can't stop smelling it. It wasn't until today that I knew that I am obsessed with this smell and here is why... I am in HR/Payroll at my work and I get time cards from our mechanics and they have motor oil smudges all over them from the guys fingers. I have spend the whole day fanning them in my face to get the smell of motor oil. I just can't stop. Its like a drug.. Holy crap I could be losing it!!! Brent has been working on his snowmobile all day and I told him NOT to shower until I can smell him for a few hours tonight..

I seriously hope I get my sanity back once Jacob is born.

31 weeks

31 Weeks today. Sorry the picture quality sucks. Brent took the camera last night so I had to use my cell.

This past weekend we went to my family Christmas. Brent and I were a half hour late due to the weather. Unfortunately by the time we got there all the good food was gone. I have a very large family. There is one thing that I look forward to every year and its my auntie's cheesy potatoes. All gone! I could have cried. Gotta love pregnancy hormones. It was nice to see everyone but also a tad overwhelming since a lot of people haven't seen me since the summer and wanted to touch the belly. Its my fam so I didn't mind as much as I would if it was a bunch of strangers.

Tony(my nephew) was a hit. This is his first Christmas so everyone got him a gift and we all watched him open them. He mostly wanted to play with the tree but my Auntie Julie snapped this cute pic of him.. He's got a thing with sticking his tongue out. We all just love this little man like crazy.
Sunday Brent and I did some last minute shopping and stopped for an early lunch. We decided to try a new restaurant that just opened in our area.
Annoyance # 1...I ordered fajitas. Usually when I order fajitas they come out on a platter with meat, fried onions and fried green peppers. Not at this place. I should have take a picture. It came out on a plate with the meat, onions and green peppers all mixed together with tomato sauce like it was a stew or something. It tasted like it should be on pasta. I sent it back and didn't eat. .
Annoyance #2... Then these two obnoxious men came in and sat down right next to us. They looked like they were drinking still from the night before and of course they start talking to Brent right away, he is very approachable and everywhere we go he meets a new buddy.
It's like ummm can't you see we are trying to have lunch and don't want to be bothered by a bunch of drunks. I was like CHECK!!!
Annoyance # 3.... On top of all of this I hadn't felt the baby move all day and made myself sick with worry. I made Brent drop me off and he went to watch football. I laid and bed and waited for the baby to move. FINALLY at about 4 pm the baby started to move around and didn't stop all night. Whew......
If you've made it this far in this post thanks for listening. I'm now done venting.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas...

Half way there

Half way to the weekend. Thank god! So we didn't end up making our trip last weekend. I was still too sick. I felt so bad for Brent. Nothing like spending your B-day taking care of a pregnant lady and cleaning up throw up. I am one lucky girl to have found someone like him. We were able to reschedule our trip for Jan 3rd so we are postponing his B-day celebration until then.

I am still not feeling 100% but I am defiantly better than I was. Yesterday I hit 30 weeks and had my first really bad case of heartburn. It was awful. It took everything I had to get through work. I cried secretly at my desk. Man what a mess I am. The minute Brent picked me up I started crying like a little baby. It's hard going back to work when I feel so icky because there is someone at work that gives me the silent treatment for days after I've been sick. Like I like being pregnant and sick all the time or something.

10 weeks to go I keep telling myself....just 10 more weeks...just 10 more weeks. I hope it goes by pretty quick because I am very excited to meet my little man. I feel like I've been pregnant for years. 62 days left.

Last night Brent and I watched Step Brother. Oh my gosh.... This is the funniest movie EVER. I laughed so hard. Has anyone saw it?

SICK AGAIN!!

Yep, I'm sick again. I am trying not to cry while writing this but it's hard. I am so sick of being sick. I know that once I see Jacob this will all be worth it but my body is so tired and I haven't even gotten to labor yet.
I woke up around 3 am with a horrible stomach ache. It was almost exactly like my stomach ache this summer while at the cabin if any of you remember that story. Oh course by 7 am I was in tears because I hadn't slept and I really can't miss work. B did everything he could. He tried rubbing my tummy and getting me whatever I needed but it just proceeded to get worse. I knew that the way I felt and the lack of sleep would prevent me from going into work.
There is nothing that I can do about that. I just wish that I didn't have to work through all of this and that I could just relax. I fell asleep around 7:30 am but was woken up because I needed to run to the bathroom and throw up. Sorry for the details. I can't keep anything down and my tummy just aches.
I called the nurse line and she said its the flu, she is so certain and I hope that's all it is. I told her that I got the flu shot and she said that only prevents respiratory problems and not the stomach problems and vomiting. Did any of you know that? What was the point of getting the shot.....
Tomorrow morning B and I were suppose to head up to Duluth. I called the hotel and they said that we can't cancel. I pray pray pray to god that I feel better in the morning so we aren't out all that money and so B can have a good B-Day.

Well enough of my sob story. I hope everyone else is better than I am.

Take care.

Doctors appointment

Yesterday we had a doctors appointment. I hate to always bring this up but you wouldn't believe how much weight I've gained. I cried to Brent in the room before the doctor came in. He does such a good job of making me feel better. He says 'honey you are pregnant and beautiful and once then baby is born we will both work out together and you will be back to your normal size in no time'. I know that I need to stop being so sensitive about this and just focus on being healthy for the baby but it's hard. I've always struggled with this issue. Add pregnancy hormones to the mix and its a disaster. I'm really going to try and relax and just sit back and enjoy this pregnancy without worrying about how I look. What's important is Jacob and making sure that he is healthy. Oh my gosh what if he is a 10 pound baby. HOLY!! I was almost 11 pounds when I was born. It could happen.
So anyway back to my appointment. I am measuring perfect and Jacob's heart beat it good and my blood pressure is normal. They did my glucose screening to test for gestational diabetes. I had to drink some orange stuff which tasted like really sweet flat orange pop. Then I had to wait an hour and have my blood drawn. B read a magazine and I read my book while we waited.

I get the test results today and will post them. I promise to get a picture up this week too.

This weekend B and I are heading up north to Duluth for a mini vaca. It's his B-day Saturday. The big 38... WOW!! Old man. We are calling this B's birthday weekend and our babymoon in one since this will probably be the last time we can get away before we have little Jacob. The place we are staying is pet friendly but I need to let go for ONE weekend and leave my little man Giz home. I swear he is so SPOILED!! I see jealousy on the horizon.

That's all for now.

Random

Ok, so I am in HR and I do all the AFLAC for the company. Every time our AFLAC rep comes to visit she brings me a duck.
I just had to share my collection of AFLAC ducks. You wouldn't believe how nuts people at my work go for these. I should start locking them up.. See my new Christmas duck in the middle. They are so cute(pic quality not so good)

Oh my my my....

In the past few weeks my appetite has increased substantially. SERIOUSLY!! Already today I've had breakfast, a piece of coffee cake, a piece of short bread, lunch, another piece of coffee cake, a small brownie and a bar thingy.. HOLY SUGAR.. I feel like I am going to burst. Tomorrow I hit my 29 weeks so I am going to post a picture. I looked at a picture from when I was 17 weeks and WOW have a grown. Wednesday I have my glucose screening. FUN!!

I feel like my blogs are boring and I have no readers. I think that because not that many people comment. What's up with that?? Start commenting PEOPLE. I know that a lot of my family reads this and do they comment?? NOOOOOO... Lets change that. I need some support, words of encouragement, tips..

This past weekend was uneventful. I did a little Christmas shopping, relaxed a little, hung out with my Mom and then Sunday I was sick.. Seems to be a pattern. I spend all of Sunday afternoon and evening in bed so I decided to start reading Twilight. So far so good. I'm almost half way through it. I would much rather read the book first than see then movie. It was only 8.97 at target along with all the other books in the series.

Ok enough of my ranting...

Overdue weekend update

I haven't been posting much lately because I haven't really had anything interesting to post. I've been dragging lately. Feeling large and lazy. I have less than three months to go until we get to meet little Jacob and the wait is killing me. Jake is moving and kicking a lot. I love it. He isn't big enough for it to be annoying yet. Some books and websites say he should be around 2 pounds 7 ounces and then some say more. I guess he is about 2-3 pounds right now. Brent and I can now see him moving when I'm laying down. My belly button is almost all the way popped out but I still don't have the line. Hopefully I won't get that.

On to my weekend update. Last weekend Brent and I headed up to my Dad's for our annual dinner/game night after Thanksgiving. We had dinner, chatted and played games. It was a lot of fun. I don't think that I've seen my Dad laugh like that in a LONG time. We were all laughing our butts off watching everyone play guesstures and the other games. Here are some pictures from the night.

My Brother and I comparing our tummies
Tony and my Dad

Brent and niece Jess
Brent showing us his Guesstures skills
My Dad and Tony
The Fam...5th attempt with the self-timer. Not that bad.

We had a lot of fun. Our next year photo will have one more little person in it. YAY!!
Sunday and Monday were sick days.. UGH... I haven't started Christmas shopping. Maybe this weekend. I hope everyone had a great Holiday weekend.
