Big Boy

It's no secret that because of Jake's visual impairment he is delayed in a few areas. One of those areas is sitting and holding his head up. After a lot of therapy and a lot of hard work Jake is sitting and since he is such a big boy we decided to change him into a big boy car seat. His legs were hanging out the sides of his other seat. Another reason I waited was because he has to be a certain weight. Also when we go to stores like Target of Cub it's easier to bring his seat in since he wasn't sitting yet.
Well that's all in the past because Jacob is a big boy now.

30

I was going to post 30 reasons why today sucks for me but I figured I would hold off and post these 30 instead.

1) One of the best feelings in the world is emptying your pockets in the evening, and knowing you can leave all the junk there until the next day.
2) Those who have guinea pigs never have to throw out any vegetables.
3) If you wear a silly hat, everyone knows who you are.
4) No one likes a smart ass
4') Especially another smart ass.
4") Unless they have their own TV show, then they're a comic genius.
5) Arguing with a zealot is only slightly easier than tunneling through a mountain with your forehead.
6) Anyone capable of getting themselves elected president has shown that they should not be allowed to do the job. (Apologies to Douglas Adams)
7) Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent. (Isaac Asmiov)
8) Right, because usually the competent don't wait that long. (Jerry Pournelle)
9) Once is chance, twice is a coincidence, three times is an enemy action. (Ian Fleming, Goldfinger)
10) Never turn your back on a charging turtle.
11) Never get in a spitting contest with a llama.
12) Projectile vomiting rarely gets you a return invitation anywhere.
13) Never throw toilet paper on a bear.
14) Hyenas laugh because they know what's coming next.
15) Shooting yourself in the foot is actually a lot more fun than it sounds.
15') Shooting yourself in the foot is actually a lot less fun than nearly anything else.
16) Calling your mother and pretending to be an encyclopedia salesman doesn't go over too well.
17) The prime motivation for all human behavior is the need to feel superior to someone else.
18) He who laughs last should do so from a safe distance.
19) Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.
20) The words "My" "Rash" "See" and "Wanna" don't go well together in a sentence.
21a) When given a choice, people will always do the dumbest thing under the circumstances.
21b) The IQ of a mob can be determined by taking the IQ of the dumbest member, and dividing by the number of members.
21c) Therefore: The larger the number of people, the stupider the resultant decisions and actions (congress anyone?)
22) Never ever go first.
23) When being stalked by an angry mob with raspberries, the first thing to do is to release a tiger. (Monty Python)
24) Rain on your wedding day is NOT ironic unless you're made of sugar.
25) Never take yourself too seriously, and mock those who do.
25') Also be sure to mock people who take themselves too seriously.
25") Those who never take anything too seriously have a distinct advantage over those who do.
26) The more you understand, the crazier you get.
27) Bad losers make worse winners.
28) The quickest way to make someone ignore you is to start a sentence with "You should ..."
29) People who habitually give advice are the worst people to take advice from.
30) If you insist on getting your way often enough, pretty soon you won't have to argue with anyone about it anymore.

New Blog title

I felt like a change so I decided to change my blog title. My blog still isn't exactly how I want it but someday I hope it will be.

Our Weekend

I had to share this picture because I thought it was so cute. Jake got a seahorse that lights up for Christmas and here he is at nap time today cuddled up with it with his little booty in the air. Too cute!!

Jake Aunt Shannon (Brent's sister) asked to take Jake on Friday. I said sure. I love when family asks to spend time with my little man. So I brought him up north to her house and ended up going out with my bff Mary and her husband Troy. It was a fun night.

Saturday Shannon called and said that she was having such a great time with him that she wanted to know if it would be okay if she had him for one more night. Normally I would say no just because I miss my baby when he's gone but the roads were bad and I didn't want him to be driven and I knew that Shannon and him were having a great time. So I said yes.

Because I went out Friday night I didn't want to go out two nights in a row so B and I just went to dinner and came home. B ended up going out for a little while and I turned in early. I laid in bed and watched my favorite show Roseanne while reading my cookbooks (strange but one of my favorite things to do).

My baby came home this morning and boy did I miss him. I feel like he's grown two inches, gained 5 pounds and changed so much. All in two days. Lol.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Ta Ta for now.

11 Months

Yesterday Jake turned 11 months. That means only one month until he is 1 years old. WOW!!! Where has the time gone??? It's been a blast. He makes me laugh everyday and we couldn't ask for a happier baby.
You are a very easy baby. You rarely cry. The only time you are really unhappy is when you are teething, tired or hungry. You have two bottom teeth and one fang. Most kids get the top two front teeth before getting a fang but you march at the beat of your own drum and that is one of the things that we love about you. You are not crawling yet but you roll to get to where you want to go and boy can you get from point A to point B fast. We have to keep our eyes on you. You smile all the time and laugh sometimes for no reason. It's Great!!
You sleep through the night FINALLY but when you are teething all you want is Mommy so those nights can become sleepless. You did so well with your glasses for so long that I thought we were so lucky but in the past two weeks you no longer leave them alone. You pull them off any chance you get which means that we might have to move to contacts since you do not have lens in your eyes. I'm hoping it's just a faze and we can get you to wear your glasses again. One day at a time. You've been through so much so I just let you be.
Here is your schedule at 11 months old
7:00 wake up
7:15 8 ounce bottle (which you sometimes only eat 6 ounces)
8:00 diaper change and get dressed and head off to the gym where you play and I work out
Tuesdays 8:15 therapy and Thursdays 8:15 therapy (on these days our schedule is moved up an hour)
9:00 home for breakfast (oatmeal and a fruit)
9:15-10 play time with Mommy
10:00 Nap (usually you nap for about an hour)
11:00 play time
12:00 lunch (two veggies and a fruit)
After lunch we have some play time and maybe run some errands.
2:00 nap ( usually about 2 hours but it varies)
8 ounce bottle when you wake up from your nap
4:00 snack and play time
5:30 Dinner (organic dinner and fruit)
Play time while Mommy makes dinner.
6:00 Daddy gets home and we eat dinner while you play
6:15-7:15 Mommy and Daddy play with you until its time to get ready for bed
7:15 bath every other night
7:30 8 ounce bottle and night night
Happy 11 month my sweet little baby. I can't wait until next month when we have your BIG 1st Birthday party.
I love you! Mommy

Jake's First Christmas

Jake's first Christmas was more exciting for B and I then it was for him. He really didn't care. Next year I'm sure he will be more interested. Here are some pictures from our Holiday events.

I hope everyone had a great Holiday and is excited for the new year.

Uncle Dan's 50th B-day

Last week Brent and I went to my Uncle Dan's 50 birthday party at Trappers. We had a great time hanging out with my family. Here are some pictures from the night.

Thank you Grandpa!

I would just like to say thank you to my Grandpa Tom for making Jake a great little chair for Christmas. He loves it. Grandpa you make such great things and Jake can't even tell you how much he LOVE LOVE LOVES his new chair (because he can't talk yet). He will be able to sit in it for a long time and know that his Great Grandpa Tom made it special for him.

Thank you again! We love you!

New Years Resolution!

It's been a while since I've blogged. I have tons of pictures to post of Jake and the family from christmas and other events. I seem to get off track a lot when it comes to my blog and sometimes with my life. One of my New Years resolutions is to take off the 20+ pounds that I've gained in the past 3 years. I said this so many times and I wonder why I think this time will be different. I guess I feel that this time will be different because I do not like the way I feel or look. I also want to be held accountable for my weight loss so I decided to blog about it. I'm in the process of creating a new blog for this. I want to separate my family blog from my personal weight loss blog.

Another resolution would be blogging more, commenting more and posting pictures more. This is another thing that I've said many times before and I ask myself the same questions. Why is this time different? Well I love blogging and I love reading blogs. I also love being able to look back and see what Jake was doing at a certain time and have all the great memories recorded. I may feel at times that no one reads my blog and that sometimes discourages me but I'm going to try and not care about that I stick with my goals. People can read or not read, comment or not comment.

So lets hope that I can stay one track.... We'll see.
