I emailed my boss to confirm my return to work date and he emailed me back that he would call me. This morning he calls me and just as I predicted.. I got laid off. He said that he would let me keep my insurance until April 1st.. WOW!!
That's BS!!! But I bet the person who is temporarily replacing you still has a job??? They better give you a nice severance package, then you can stay home with jake longer....
Nice. Be sure to contact your state's Department of Labor and Unemployment - you are elibable to collect once you stop getting paid by your previous employer.
(Let me know if you have any questions - I was fired a week before I found out I was pregnant with Cooper, and my Dad workes for the labor department out here.)
I'm going to try and put a positive spin on this and I think this will end up being a blessing in disguise. I feel that good things will come from this even though now it seems to be bad.
Try to look at this as a positive thing. With the stress you had there and with Jacob wanting to be awake so much, it might be good for now. Also, whoever is lucky enough to have you as an employee will be the blessed one and hopefully less stress for you!! Give Jake a hug for me!! Love ya...Aunt Donna
Kim, I lost my job when I was pregnant with Bianca and while I was really pissed for not being able to leave on my own terms, it was the best thing that has ever happened to me, well besides having my kiddos! Things will probably be tough for a while getting used to one income, but you learn to survive and things will fall into place! Enjoy your time with the little guy!
Wow! I checked back on your old post and the terms in which they're "laying you off" seem unfair/illegal. I know some of the commenters suggested that as well.... did you ever check into it? Did they keep the temp/new person?
