Jessie's Dance Recital

Saturday night Brent watched the baby and I went to my niece Jessie's dance recital. Jess dances at 4th street dance where I danced growing up. This year they celebrated their 25th year anniversary. I danced there when I was 6 through age 13 so boy did I feel old. The same woman owns the studio and a girl I went to elementary school, middle school and high school with is her teacher. Small world. The recital was in my old middle school. It was like taking a trip down memory lane..

Tracy getting Jess ready

They had 25 years of shirts lined up.. Of course the first 7 were the ones from when I danced.. I actually remember them.
Jess in her costume. You know that this costume was 70 dollars. Can you believe it. There was a girl that I saw in at least 7 dances and she was in a different costume each time. I can't imagine what her parents have to pay for her costumes.

Visit

Lots of posts today.. I am trying to catch up on everything.

On Saturday Aunt Donna came down for a visit. She doesn't get to see Jacob that often because she lives a ways up north. When ever she can she comes down to see Jake. She always brings him something cute. She spoils him.

BBQ

Friday night we went to Mary's for a BBQ. Surprisingly most of us were able to make it on an hours notice.

We had to get home because we needed to put our little man to sleep.. Mary, Rog and Lanee decided to come to our house..

Boobs,poo and teeth

After much discussion with Brent and lot of thinking I decided to stop breastfeeding. I wanted to do it until he was at least 6 months but we only made it 3 and a 1/2 months. The reason why I decided it was time was because our little man was having constant tummy problems and I couldn't single out what it was I was eating that was hurting him so much. It had gotten to the point where I wasn't eating anything but bland food but he was still in agony. On top of all that I just stop producing enough to make him satisfied. It's been one week and I am still in a lot of pain. I also miss the bonding experience but in the end I needed to do what was best for the baby and for myself.

Now that Jake is on formula only he is so constipated that he goes 3-4 days without going to the bathroom. He is not a happy camper and B and I have such a hard time seeing our little boy in so much pain. The doctor prescribed him some meds to take twice a day and he has been on them for about 5 days and has only went to the bathroom once. We are going to the doctor tomorrow. I hope that they can do something to help our little man. We miss our happy baby.

On a happier note last week our baby sprouted two little tooth buds. WOW!! Talk about early. He is a drooling mess. He has one on the upper left side and one in front. Teething has also made him a tad cranky. So much for my little man to take. We have to pry his little hands out of his mouth cause he just wants to suck on them... I took a couple pictures of his teeth. They are a little blurry but you can see the white speck which is the tooth bud..

I know that it looks like I am torturing him but honestly he loves when I stick my fingers in his mouth. I think it feels good on his sore gums.

Memorial Weekend

Over Memorial weekend B and I took the little man to the cabin for the first time. We were very nervous as to how he would be on the ride up and how he would sleep. He was great on the way up and for the first time in his life he slept through the night. Mommy and Daddy were so happy. He slept through the night the second night as well. The third night he woke up once but went back to sleep right away. All that fresh air did him good. Unfortunately the poor little guy was very backed up so he was a tad on the crabby side. I felt so bad because he didn't feel good but for the most part he was a good little boy. Mom and Dad had a blast too. B went fishing with my Brother Jay and I got to spend time with my family. We stayed up late the first two nights by the fire. Good thing the baby slept so good so Mom and Dad didn't have to get up or we would have been two tired parents. On top of everything Gizmo was the best dog. We were shocked. There was a ton of dogs up there and he did a great job. YAY. The whole family had a great time. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

3 Months

Happy 3 month Birthday Jacob!!!

I can't believe that you are 3 months already. WOW!! You are getting so big. Everyday you change and Daddy and I love to watch you coo and play. You make the funniest faces and noises. You love to lay on the couch with Mom in the morning and play. You love sucking on your fingers and it keeps you pretty content for a while. You are up to about 15 pounds but I used our scale so it might not be that accurate. You are wearing 3-6 month outfits and you are getting sooooo tall. You still nurse about every two hours. We give you one 4 ounce bottle during the day and one before bed just to make sure you are getting full enough. Your bed time is 8 pm but sometimes it takes until 8:30-9 to get you down for the night. You are still waking up twice a night which I am trying to break you of but you just love to eat. You wake up between 6-8 and love to play with Mommy before your morning nap.
You are a blessing to us. You make us smile with your funny faces and noises. We love you so much.

Yesterday Mommy took you for your first walk without the car seat in the stroller. You loved it.
Here you are at the beginning of our walk.. All smiles...

15 minutes later you passed out.. You must of loved the fresh air.

We look forward to the months to come and all the new things you will learn. Mommy is so excited for you to start cereal next month and then baby food the month after. This is going to be a fun summer..
Love you,
Mommy

New Pictures

Brent got me a new camera phone for my Birthday and I actually just got around to picking it up yesterday and it's wonderful. I wanted a phone that took great pictures because I am constantly taking pictures of Jacob and like the convenience of using my phone to take them. I've posted a bunch of pictures before that were taken with my old phone and they were not the best quality.
Here is a picture of Jacob in his new Toy. He is holding his head up so good now. I can't believe how fast they grow up.

Morning play time with Mama. Every morning we sit on the couch and play. He is a very happy baby. Last week he was not feeling well and for at least 5 days he was so crabby I was about to pull my hair out but it didn't take him long to get back to his happy self.

Happy Mothers Day!!

It's my first Mothers Day. It's so exciting. I feel sorta like it's my birthday or something. Brent gave me cards from him and the baby and they were so cute. I cried. Brent is gone all weekend because for some reason some MAN decided to make fishing opener on Mothers Day weekend. I could have put up a fight with Brent and made him stay with me for my first Mothers Day but he has been going up to the same place for 20 years so we decided to celebrate when he gets home.

Last night the baby only woke up ONCE to eat.. YAY!!!! He went to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 12:45 to eat then went back down at 1 until 6 am... This is a first for him and I couldn't ask for a better Mothers Day present.

Happy Mothers Day to everyone.

I will leave you with some cute pictures of Jake after our bath..

Shots

The other day B and I brought little Jacob to the doctor for his 2 month shots. He was so happy to be there..talking and smiling.. Little did he know what would happen. UGH. My heart broke the minute he let out that first cry. It was like someone had tried to kill him. I wanted to cry but held it back. He only cried for a few minutes but it was enough to break Mom and Dads hearts. The doctor said that Jacob is thriving and seems to be a very happy baby. She said that she can see how happy he makes us. That just melted my heart hearing that.
My doctor has been my doctor since I was a kid and is my Mom and Grandma's doctor as well. I was so happy she was able to deliver my baby and is now his doctor too.

Jacob is 12.12 pounds and is 23 inches long. He is growing so fast. Everyday he changes. He is now so vocal. Every morning we lay on the couch and he just talks to me for at least an hour and then he will just fall asleep. It's the funniest thing ever. He is still eating every two hours but we are breast feeding and he is a snacker. I would love to break him of that. At night he gets a formula bottle before bed. He can usually eat about 4-6 ounces. He goes to sleep pretty good at about 8 every night and wakes up between 12:30 and 1:30. I then feed him and he is back to sleep until about 4 am. He wakes up for the morning at 7 am. I would really like to get him down to only waking once a night. Someday... I hope. I've been working every day on getting him on a schedule. He is taking a morning nap in his crib now and his afternoon nap is sometimes in the crib and sometimes with me. Every day we get closer.

He is the best thing to happen to us. He makes us smile everyday. The love I feel for him is like nothing I've ever felt.

I haven't uploaded pictures from my camera but I this one is from my phone. Not the best quality but still cute.

Soon he will get his 3 month pictures done professionally. I can't wait.
