French Fries and Ice Cream

I decided to title my blog French Fries and Ice Cream since that is what I had for dinner tonight. No lie. Since B got out of the hospital he hasn't been able to really eat so I've kinda been on my own for dinner. So tonight I decided to bake up some of my Cascadian Farms french fries and a Skinny Cow ice cream for dessert. It was by far the best dinner this week. Oh wait! It's only Tuesday.

Today I had one of my besties Lanee over for lunch. We decided to get together for lunch twice a month to catch up and have girl talk. I made a yummy salad.
Romaine lettuce
Chicken
Strawberries
Light balsamic
Blue cheese crumbles
Walnuts

Of course I took a picture of the salad as I do EVERYTHING. Some day I will be able to afford a professional camera and they it's on. Pictures of EVERYTHING!! Watch OUT!!

While Jake napped it was nice to have some friend time. I some times get wrapped up in my own life and forget how much I need my friends and how much I value them.

Thank you Lanee for coming over today. Love YA!!

Update on B

B got out of the hospital on Saturday. He was packed and waiting when I got there to pick him up. I guess you could say he was more than ready to get out of that place. No more morphine drip but at least he gets to be in his own bed. Saturday and Sunday were really tough on him. He said that the aftermath of this surgery feels worse than his first. That's crazy to me because the first surgery they cut him wide open to remove his cancer. This surgery they removed his ileostomy and stitched up the hole in his stomach. He seems to be in so much more pain this time. Today he was able to get out of bed and sit in the recliner. He loves that I have to wait on him hand and foot but that's not going to last. Lol.

We're just taking everything day by day. Once he is healed up he is going to get back to work and hopefully our lives will get back to normal(some what). I told him that once he is done with chemo (mid summer) and this is all behind us are are taking a vacation. We've never been anywhere out of the state together and this is the perfect excuse to go somewhere.

Tony's 3rd Birthday party.

This past Saturday we headed over to my Brother Jason and Sister In-Law Lori's house for my Nephew's 3rd Birthday party. Lori made an amazing taco spread and her Mom Joan made my favorite thing chocolate covered strawberries and rice crispy treats.. The party was nice. Spending time with my family is at the top of my list of favorite things.

Productive Day

Brent has been home with me since Sept-Oct last year because of his cancer. As much as I love him I am starting to go NUTS!! On top of all the snow it's enough to make a girl go crazy. Don't get me wrong I love spending time with him but everyday for 7 months is a little much. I'm a stay at home Mom and had a routine before. Brent is at the end of his long journey and is going back to work in a couple weeks. I love that for two reasons, 1. He is finally getting healthy and can get some normalcy back in his life which he(we) needs 2. I can get my routine back. SWEET for both of us.

So yesterday I was really trying to be productive. I've been slacking in almost every area for about 7 months. I've even gained 6 pounds(my gym routine is thrown off too). I decided to tackle two projects that have been on my To Do list for about a month. The closet and the pantry. Here are the before and after pictures.

Holy MESS!!
Clean and organized
REALLY??
Discovered we have 9 cans of corn.

There you have it.. I was productive. YEAH ME!!

Jake saying Leah

Tomorrow we are heading over to my Brother Jason and Sister In-Law Lori's house to celebrate my Nephew Tony's 3rd Birthday. I've been trying to get Jake to say Tony forever. He says Teetee. Tonight we started to practice my Niece's name Leah too. When we tried to go back to practicing Tony he could not stop has Eeahh Eeahh. It was cute so I had to tape it.

Children's Museum

Today Jake and I went to the Children's Museum. We met up with Jake's friends Peyton and Chase and their Mommy Nora and Auntie Nina. This was the first time Jake visited the Children's Museum and it won't be the last. We spent hours there exploring. He had such a great time being able to just run free. Since this was an unfamiliar area Jake did bump his head a few times from running into things but over all he did amazing. There were a few times were he wanted to crawl because he felt safer but I encouraged him to walk and explore and he did awesome!! When we got home Jake crashed for 2 hours. Good day!!

Jake loved the giant legos

Think Spring!!!

I put a sign up on my window a few weeks ago that says THINK SPRING!! Maybe if we think it it will come. I can't believe how long this winter has been. GEESH!! I for one am having MAJOR Spring fever. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. Well here is a video of Jake that I would like to share of him trying to say our dog Gizzy's name.

Happy 2nd Birthday Jake!!

It's been almost 3 months since I've blogged. Life has been very crazy in our house. Since Brent was diagnosed with cancer it feels like it's all been a bad dream. Maybe blogging about it may have been therapeutic for me but I like to keep some things private. There is one person that keeps Brent and I going. He is our constant reminder of how wonderful life is and how good God is. He is and always will be our strength through all the hard times. Of course I am talking about the love of my life Jake and today happens to be his 2nd birthday. Where did time go??? He is full of life and love and is truely an amazing little boy.

I decided to take his pictures this year to cut some cost. They aren't as good as they would be if I brought him somewhere but they are still cute.
