Grandma Airhart

I wanted to post about my Grandma Airhart once her service was done and I could slow down and just think about what I wanted to say about her. My Gram was an amazing woman. I have nothing but awesome memories as a child with her and my Grandpa. Gram has been sick for a long time. She never complained and her strength amazed me. Her family was her life. Her Grandchildren were the joys of her life. The first thing she said to my Brother when she saw him last week before they put her in a breathing machine was "how are the kids". It pains me that I didn't get to the hospital until after she was hooked up and I was unable to talk to her and hear her voice one last time. I held her hand as she took her last breath. I whispered I love you Grandma into her ear and said good bye.

We planned Gram's service together as a family and I was so proud of how we all stuck together to make the service beautiful and that is exactly what it was beautiful. It was hard to say goodbye but I take comfort in knowing that my Gram is no longer in pain and that she is not only with God but she is also with my Gramps.

My family and I got together over the weekend to make photo boards for the service. It was nice to be able to talk and share memories as we put the boards together.

It's hard to see all the photos from this picture but if you click on the photo you will be able to see them better.

It was nice to see family that I haven't seen in many years. One person in particular that I was excited to see was my Great Grandma Airhart. She is an amazing lady and I've missed her very much.

Love you Gram and I will miss you so much. I thank God every day that I was blessed to have you in my life for 33 years. I will see you again on the other side.

Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Your grandma sounds like she was a wonderful person - hang on to those memories, they'll get you through. Laugh when you think of something funny, then cry right after if you need to! It's okay to grieve.
